Todd Gardner Drills for Bars

2 Knees on the bar with a bar pad

Purpose: To develop confidence in casting in balance. Climb, then cast onto knees, then ankles (using a soft bar pad between the hands). If they can do this easily, and without fear, they will have an easier time to be able to cast to squat and straddle on top of the bar. If the matting under the bar is soft, and safe, they can roll over using a reverse grip or dive roll off the bar to the mats below, as a safety drill.

Set up: Jr. Kip Bar works great for this drill.
